About Us :: Company
Cara was formed in 1997 by Dr. Richard Wool, Professor of Chemical Engineering
and past Director of the Center for Composite Materials at the University
of Delaware, to commercialize resins based on a unique technology for converting
soybean oils to thermosetting resins.
CARA received a four-year grant from the Department of Energy and
an SBIR from the US Department of Agriculture to fund initial commercialization
efforts. Cara is pursuing industrial partners, who will join efforts
to advance the process technology and expand the application base.
Work is done under confidentiality agreements and for specific
end-uses.
